PM says government allocates additional 300 bln rbl to regions

MOSCOW, Oct 30 (PRIME) -- The government will allocate additional 300 billion rubles to Russia’s regions, of which 200 billion rubles has already been disbursed to 75 regions, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the State Council’s meeting on Friday.

“Over 12 trillion rubles is provided annually to reach the national goals, it is what the federal budget policy is to focus on. It is necessary to develop regional budgets and interbudget relations. This year the budget policy has been significantly softened with the regional budgets spending financed by over 10 trillion ruble in the first nine months, which is about 17% more than last year,” he said.

“A decision was made to send additional financial aid of 300 billion rubles to the regions, of which 200 billion rubles has already been sent to 75 regions, and the remaining funds will be distributed until the end of the year.”

Mishustin also said that the government will soon prepare decisions allowing the regions to keep their budget resources obtained from savings from state contracts if the funds are used for the national projects. A similar mechanism will be envisaged for budget credits.

In 2018, Putin signed a decree on Russia’s national goals and strategic development tasks till 2024 in which he ordered the government to ensure the country’s entry into the top five of global economies, a higher than global rise of the national economy, and inflation not exceeding 4%.

The government estimated spending on the national projects, including expansion of major infrastructure, environmental protection, healthcare and digital economy, at 25.7 trillion rubles in 2019–2024.
